The SSPod Spotlights the Suffragettes who have paved the way and the parallel century of women from the Miss America Organization who have made it their mission to be empowered, educated, and civically engaged as well.Tally is the founder of Vote With a Vision in TN and provides civic literacy education for school children across the state while registering high school seniors to vote as we come upon a pivotal midterm election year in a state known for its low voter turnout and disenfranchisement of young voters. Brianna Mason Broady has a Masters in Teacher Education from University of Tennessee, Knoxville and achieved the title of Miss Tennessee 2019. She was the first black woman to represent the state at Miss America in its almost 100 year history at the time, where she was an Equity and Justice Scholarship Finalist.
Join Tally and Brianna as we discuss Brianna's work on child literacy, her organization Advocates for Autism, and her career as a First Grade Teacher in Metro Public Schools in Nashville. It's a can't-miss!
